Not necessarily. If the existing concrete is still structurally useful, lifting and stabilizing it may be a practical alternative to tearing it out and replacing it. We evaluate the condition of the concrete before recommending the work.

Settled concrete can result from soil movement, erosion, voids beneath the slab, poor drainage, or other changes in the ground supporting the concrete. We look at the surrounding conditions when evaluating a project.

We may recommend pressure washing or other finishing work when it makes sense for the project, but those services are not necessarily performed at the same time as concrete leveling. Some finishing work, such as caulking or sealing, may need to be completed separately after the concrete has been leveled and the appropriate conditions are met.

The longevity of a concrete leveling project depends on the condition of the slab, the underlying soil and voids, drainage, water movement, and other site conditions. The goal is to stabilize the concrete and address the conditions that can be reasonably corrected.
